Odense Boldklub Q has acquired the services of American striker Katie Soderstrom. The former Butler University attacker joined up with her new teammates shortly after winning the USL W League Final on the 22nd of July with Indy Eleven.

With recent investment and the appointment of Jonas Nielson as the head of recruitment, Odense Boldklub Q are making a strong bid to return to Denmark’s highest division next season.

Witjh securing Soderstrom’s autograph, Odense Q have brought in one of Big East’s most exciting players. The former Bulldog attacker has racked up a great amount of individual awards during her time in Indianapolis, Indiana. In 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022, Soderstrom was named in the All-Big East First Team. Upon graduation Soderstrom carved her name strongly in Butler’s history books, as she is 2nd in all-time assists, 4th in all-time points and joint 4th in all-time goals. Her outstanding performances during her collegiate career were awarded with a trial at NWSL club Angel City FC.

To no surprise, John Bæksted is excited to start working with Sodertrom: ”Our scouting department had nothing but praise for Katie. She knows how to score and assist, which we will need big time this season. She might even be a bit undervalued, because no one get’s on the Hermann Trophy Watch list by chance. So we feel we’ve done some incredible business”.
