Granada, Spain — American forward Lauren Bonavita has officially signed with Arenas de Armilla Femenino. The move marks Bonavita’s first professional contract in European football following a standout collegiate career in the United States.

Bonavita, 25, previously played for the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she earned recognition as one of the top attacking players in the Atlantic 10 Conference. Known for her clinical finishing and strong physical presence up front, Bonavita is expected to bring immediate impact to the Andalusian side.

“Fichaje oficial: Lauren Bonavita,” the club posted on Instagram, alongside a short video introducing the new signing. The announcement was accompanied by a message from the player herself, who expressed excitement about beginning her new chapter in Spain, sharing: “One-way ticket to Spain 🇪🇸. Grateful for the opportunity.”

Arenas de Armilla Femenino currently competes in the Tercera Federación Femenina, part of Spain’s national women’s football pyramid. The club has been building a more competitive squad for the upcoming season, and Bonavita’s signing reflects a strategic move to bolster its attacking options. UMass Women’s Soccer also acknowledged the move, congratulating Bonavita on social media and wishing her success in her professional journey abroad.

With preseason preparations underway, Bonavita is expected to join team training immediately and could make her debut in early fixtures of the 2025–2026 season.
