Before becoming the official women’s department of Racing Club de Lens in 2020, the club was founded as Arras Football Association in 2001. Whilst Arras FCF, the team gained promotion to the Division 1 Féminine in the 2011-2012 season. They also reached the semi-finals of the Coupe de France Féminine in the same season, the team’s best performance in the competition. After the merger in 2020, the club is currently on track to return the Division 1 Féminine, after a strong first half of the season. Davis’ her new side make use of the same facilities as the men’s department of the club, spending most of their time in the La Gaillette, the technical and sports center of Racing Club de Lens.

RC Lens opened the second half of the season with an away game against Thonon Évian, resulting in a convincing 6-0 victory. Head coach M’Barek is excited by the arrival of Oklahoma native, who is predicted to have a big contribution in the final push of their title bid:

”Signing Ramsey is a strong marker of the development of RC Lens Féminin as she becomes the first American player in the club’s history. Attracting a player from the United States, where women’s football is a national sport, is a guarantee of progress. Beyond the symbolic aspect, Ramsey’s full profile drew our interest. A promising wide player with all the makings of a typical American player. Dynamic, athletic and a constant threat on the wing. In addition, Ramsey arrives at Lens with determination and from a culture of self-sacrifice, an important value within the team. Her arrival on the European continent is a big change in her life as a young adult, it also represents a breath of fresh air for the group, which will integrate for the first time a player who does not speak French”.

College career

Before graduating, Ramsey Davis started her college career with the University of Mississippi. The University of Mississippi, affectionately known to alumni, students and friends as Ole Miss, is the state’s largest university by enrollment (27.124) as well as the oldest.
